Please drop in for five minutes (or more) and tell us what’s important to you!
Dear member-owners,
If you were at our Annual Meeting in March, you know we’d hoped to share some of our recent work on our Co-op’s values and hear from those in attendance, but time constraints got in the way.
We’d be grateful if you, as a member-owner, would join us on Thursday, May 8 for five minutes – or for the entire session, if you’d like – to share what’s important to you about your Co-op. What are our organization’s core values?
Why do we want to know?
It’s the Board’s responsibility to understand the values of our member-owners and reflect those values in the decisions we make. In fact, it’s in our job description: “Policy G2.1… The Board will educate itself regarding the values held by the members and report periodically to the members …”
Please join us!
When? Thursday, May 8, anytime between 7-8:30 p.m.
Where? On Zoom: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/88613006792
As many of you know, we’ve held a series of discussions with member-owners over the past year to listen to what you care about most. Here’s what we have heard so far; please let us know whether these resonate with you and what, if anything, is missing:
You belong here – as a customer, as a member-owner, as an employee. |
We offer choice – based on our community’s wide range of product preferences and food budgets. |
You know your food – where it’s from and what’s in it. |
We support local – farms, producers, economy, and community. |
We care – about human health; the health of the environment; and about social, racial, and economic justice. |
If you can’t join us in the Zoom session, please send us an email with the form below.
Thanks to all who have contributed to this work thus far. We hope to hear from as many member-owners as possible over the next several weeks!
In service,
The Values Working Group: Co-op Board members Tammy Erickson, Peter Garbus, Bill Sweeney, and George Touloumtzis.
