At the Jan 10th Board meeting, after a well-planned, well-facilitated cooperative process involving the Board, members & staff members present, a motion passed to delay the vote on eliminating the 2% discount until after the March 4th Annual Meeting (till the March 14th Board meeting, which members may attend and also vote, as they can any Board meeting). The motion that passed also stipulated that an information packet and non-binding ballot questions on the 2% discount issue would be included in the mailing for the Annual Meeting (A.M.) which is mailed to all members at least 7 days prior to the March 4th A.M.

All Members have the opportunity to read the information packet and to answer the 2% discount ballot questions (as well as vote for Board candidates) with online voting or in person at the Annual Meeting, or by proxy or in the stores after the online voting period begins, which I believe is a two week window before the A.M.. These non-binding ballot questions, as well as group member discussions at the 2018 A.M. will finish up the year long conversation on discounts, and give the Board a clearer picture of where members stand on this issue – at least the ones who read the material and participate.
