Call For Candidates

The Board of Directors has decided to recruit members. Our bylaws allow the board to appoint new directors to terms lasting until our next annual meeting. Of eleven available seats, there are now four open. I hope we can fill the vacancies. Our bylaws say that up to two employees are eligible as directors; we currently have none. Serving on the board is interesting, rewarding, and sometimes challenging. The time commitment is generally at least ten hours per month and board members receive a 15% discount. Please consider whether you (or any member you know) might be willing to do this valuable work. Attending board meetings can be a fine way to see if receive a 15% discount. Meeting time and place are posted online and on the bulletin boards, agendas are posted on the bulletin boards, meeting packets are available at the meetings—I'm glad to e-mail any member the packet in advance—and our bylaws provide members the right to vote at board meetings. Please do come say hello any time! You can pick up an application packet from the front cashier or member/customer service desk at either store or access it on-line from our website. Please fill out and return forms by August 31, 2012 by mailing in or dropping off at GFM (attention Gary Seldon). The board plans to vote on filling vacancies at our meeting on September 12th. - Gary Seldon, BOD Clerk
